A Golf Yu-Pack round trip is not simply any two shipments of the same golf bag. Japan Post’s return conditions require the same contents to travel back to the outward sender’s name and address, with the return arranged when the outward parcel is deposited. This guide is for domestic golf-equipment shipments in Japan. It is desk research, not a shipment test or a quote for a particular itinerary.
Draw both journeys before filling in the label
Write two lines on a separate planning note:
- Outward journey: sender’s name and address → golf course or hotel.
- Return journey: golf course or hotel → proposed recipient’s name and address.
Now compare the final destination with the outward sender details. This makes an itinerary change visible before it is hidden inside a label choice.
Consider two hypothetical plans. In Plan A, you send your clubs from your home to a course and want them returned to you at that same home. In Plan B, you send them from your home to the course but want the next shipment sent to a hotel in another prefecture. Plan A has the basic address pattern for the return service; the remaining conditions still need checking. Plan B does not meet the stated return-to-sender-address condition, even if you will personally receive both shipments.
For Plan B, ask about the second shipment as its own route. Do not fill in the old home address to obtain a return discount while expecting the parcel to find you at a different hotel.
Check the remaining return conditions
The official discount page also requires the outward and return parcels to use the same shipping-fee and size categories. The return must be deposited within one month of the outward dispatch, through the establishment handling the outward delivery or its delivery administration. Ask the course or hotel whether it can handle your proposed return arrangement. Its reception hours, storage policy and parcel handover arrangements are not established by Japan Post’s general service page. Confirm those directly before relying on the venue as part of your itinerary.
Keep the discount separate from the base price
If the eligible return charge before the round-trip reduction is R, the round-trip part of the calculation is R − ¥120. This does not mean the entire outward-and-return journey costs ¥120, or that you subtract ¥120 from both legs as the round-trip discount.

For planning, keep three amounts apart: the outward base charge, the return base charge and confirmed eligible reductions. This guide gives no invented nationwide total; the actual route and accepted size determine the base charges.
Prepare the outward shipment around the day of use
Golf Yu-Pack is intended to deliver equipment by the day before use. Japan Post specifies a dispatch window counted back ten days from that preceding day and provides a delivery-day lookup. That window is not a promise that a last-minute handover will arrive in time. Check the actual origin and destination before choosing a dispatch day. Use the dedicated one-way or round-trip label and state the day of use clearly. Japan Post also asks recipients to bring the sender’s label copy and identity documentation when receiving the equipment. Keep the copy available during the trip instead of packing it inside the bag. Once the route, return eligibility and timing are clear, confirm the packed bag’s acceptance with the handling location. Venue participation, exact arrival timing, cancellation or refund treatment, and unusual changes of contents are not verified here. The useful first decision is whether the clubs are returning to the original sender address or continuing to a new destination.
