Japan Post’s International Mail My Page does not accept an overseas address directly in the sender address field. If you want your home address abroad to appear on the printed sender line, Japan Post describes a specific method: enter the address of where you are staying in Japan, print the label, cross out that printed Japan address with two lines, and write your overseas address by hand. The original Japan address is still sent as electronic advance data. There is an important exception for goods worth more than ¥200,000 that require export declaration: Japan Post says to create the label using the address of your residence or stay in Japan as the sender address. Japan Post’s sender-address FAQ

Which address should you put into My Page first?
Use the address of your actual residence or stay in Japan for the sender field when creating the label. For a visitor, that could be a place where they are staying, if they can accurately provide its postal code, prefecture and address. This is the information Japan Post’s online field accepts. Do not enter a made-up Japanese address simply to pass the form. The postal code and address must describe a real place connected to you. If you are uncertain about the exact Japanese address, confirm it with your accommodation before generating the label.
The label’s visible return address and its transmitted data are not the same thing after the permitted correction. Japan Post expressly warns that the originally entered information will be sent as electronic advance data. A handwritten overseas return line therefore does not replace the electronic sender data. If consistency of those two records is important for your shipment, ask Japan Post before sending rather than assuming the handwriting edits both. Japan Post: overseas address in sender field

Does the value of the contents change the answer?
Yes. Take a hypothetical visitor sending two different parcels. Parcel A contains personal goods whose total declared value is below ¥200,000; the visitor wants an overseas return address printed on the label. The published FAQ describes the double-line method for displaying it after creating the label with a Japan stay address. Parcel B contains goods whose total value exceeds ¥200,000 and is subject to export declaration. For Parcel B, the same FAQ says a Japan residence or stay address is required for customs clearance. The visitor should not use the double-line method to remove that required Japan sender address from the shipping plan. The example illustrates the branch; it is not a customs valuation of any real parcel.
If you are near the threshold, determine the total value of the goods from your own truthful contents list before choosing how to fill in the sender line. Do not divide items or lower a declared value to avoid a requirement. Japan Post’s page does not resolve every customs case, and destination-country rules can add conditions. The article therefore answers the My Page sender-field problem, not whether a particular item can be exported or imported.
How do you prepare the label and check it at the counter?
Japan Post’s My Page overview separates the PC version, which prints on your own A4 paper, from the smartphone version, which provides a code or printing number for the post-office terminal or clerk. Choose the version that matches how you will print, enter the accurate Japan sender address, and review the recipient, service and contents. If the overseas return-address method applies, make the two-line change only after printing as the specific FAQ instructs. Keep the label legible and take it to the postal counter for acceptance. If you are sending goods above the threshold or cannot give an accurate Japan stay address, clarify that problem with Japan Post before creating a label.
The Japan Post address-format guide recommends English letters and Arabic numerals for international address lines. Use the recipient’s correct country-specific format as well. No account, label or parcel was created for this desk-research guide. Postal acceptance and the destination’s treatment of a return address were not tested.
